I GUESS A HUG IS OUT OF THE QUESTION?

I COULDN’T RESIST
posting this hilarious pic of Zelensky and Hungarian PM Viktor Orban probably taken in Kiev during Orban’s “Peace” trip earlier this month. There’s no bromance brewing here, folks! Orban's expression is priceless! He must be thinking: "Now this clown wants to kissy-face make up for the cameras? Kibaszott seggfej!"
Orban made a trip to Kiev, Moscow, Beijing and lastly to Washington where he attended the 75th birthday celebration/summit of NATO. While he didn’t speak privately with President Biden about his call for a ceasefire and negotiations to end the war in Ukraine, he did speak with Türkiye’s President Erdogan at the summit, who, you may recall, in March 2022 hosted peace talks between Russia and Ukraine where a treaty was all but inked until then-British PM Boris Johnson kiboshed the deal (sending upwards of 500,000 Ukrainian men to their deaths). He and Erdogan probably compared notes on negotiation strategies.
ORBAN ATTENDED the NATO circle-jerk but was mostly ‘cold-shouldered’ by his fellow members. (The rest of that clown show wants to continue the war in Ukraine.) After the meeting he went to Mar-a-lago to see Donald Trump. How the NATO mucky mucks must have grumbled over that! (In the past,Trump talked about pulling out of the military alliance and ending the Ukraine war. Who knows what he’ll do if re-elected.)
AND while Orban was given a lukewarm reception from Zelensky earlier in Kiev and was mostly ignored at the NATO shindig, he received praise from Putin and Xi Jinping for his peace proposal ideas. Orban has put his foot in the door to keep the possibility of a ceasefire and negotiations open. The rest of NATO (except Slovakia and one or two others) keeps trying to shut it like the good, little American butt-plugs they are. Pathetic.
👉BTW, in July Orban became President of the European Council, a six-month rotating office where he can put forward policy initiatives to be voted on in the EU parliament. Orban subsequently conducted his whirlwind peace mission as a private person, not “representing” the EU. Still, Brussels is so pissed with him for breaking ranks that they’re looking for ways to oust him from his position on the EU Council. That's democracy in action at the EU! No peaceniks need apply. What a bunch of kindergarten brats! Orban is one of the few adults in the room. Stick it to 'em, Viktor!
Cheers, Jake.
