IT IS RICH AND
HIGHLY NAUSEATING to see Benjamin Netanyahu—a war criminal by just about every
metric there is—hand Donald Trump a copy of a letter he sent to the Stockholm
Nobel Peace Prize committee nominating Trump for the prestigious award the American president covets
and feels he deserves.* The Israeli PM gave President Trump the letter during a luncheon at the White House on Monday.
What a sick
joke! Netanyahu’s IDF (Israeli Defence Forces) have murdered over 62,000 Palestinians while ostensibly combating Hamas (when it’s really ethnic cleansing of the
Gaza Strip that’s on the PM’s agenda). And the death toll from the Gaza Health Ministry is probably an under-count, with two recent studies suggesting it's actually over
one-hundred thousand, with tens of thousands wounded by Israeli bombs and bullets.
๐In addition, Netanyahu blockades the Gaza Strip, cutting off all save a trickle of food and humanitarian aid from entering since March, along with what is provided by wholly inadequate "feeding hubs" set up under the auspices of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation in the southern quarter of the Palestinian enclave.

๐The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation is a sham Israeli-American operation that deliberately fails to address critical food shortages in the Palestinian enclave. It acts as a choke-point in a militarized scheme to immiserate Gazans and force them into exile. Or worse. Hundreds have been killed by IDF guns and armed GHF staff at feeding stations run by the Swiss-based NGO since it began its slapdash 'humanitarian' aid operation at the end of May. Meanwhile, mothers can't breastfeed because they lack adequate nutrition for themselves, and infants starve to death because Israel bans baby formula from entering. And the bombs are still falling on the tent encampments, with 90% of the Gazan population internally displaced from their homes. The Gaza Strip, Palestinian sovereign territory as recognized by the United Nations, has been made uninhabitable and left in ruins by the IDF. Israel’s actions over these past twenty months have been called a likely genocide by
the International Court of Justice (the court is still adjudicating
the charge set before it by South Africa in December 2023). In addition, Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defence minister have been charged with war crimes by the International Criminal Court.
Along the way, Netanyahu
has attacked Lebanon in response to Hezbollah+
missile
bombardments (in support of Gaza). He seems determined to occupy Lebanon's south and may even carve off Lebanese territory to give to his new BFF in Syria, the dressed up former al-Qaeda head-chopper, Ahmed
al-Sharaa. Israel has taken over the rest of the contested Golan Heights (by
international law, it's Syrian territory) as
well as Syria’s water-rich southern highlands. It may soon illegally annex the
West Bank (Palestinian territory Israel has illegally occupied since 1967) if a
bill working its way through the Knesset (Israeli’s parliament) becomes law.
And, of course, Israel concluded Phase One of its war against Iran with a
sixty-day ceasefire breather that only allows the Zionist entity time to ‘reload’
and begin Phase Two in short order. Stay tuned.
๐All This Is To
Say that the only letter Netanyahu should be sending is to his lawyer as he sits
in jail at the Hague charged with genocide and ethnic cleansing, and illegal wars of aggression. The Nobel committee should
return Netanyahu’s nomination suggestion along with a thanks-but-no-thanks note.
๐FOR HIS PART, TRUMP has facilitated and funded every crime Israel has committed and is
as guilty as Netanyahu. He deserves to be dished out jail time alongside the Israeli
PM. And the Nobel Prize is better off going to someone who actually deserves it. Trump calls himself the "peace president". GMAB!
Just sayin’.
Cheers, Jake. ____________________________________
* Boy! Does the
Israeli PM sure know how to butter-up Trump! Let’s see what comes from the Monday’s
state visit Netanyahu and his ministers paid to Washington. [Probably nothing
good, if the past is anything to go by. Ed.]
+ Hezbollah is a militia in Lebanon that supports the Palestinian cause in Gaza and occupied Palestine. Israel dealt the organization a serious blow during a "decapitation strike" last September (remember those pagers?) There is a "ceasefire" of sorts between Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah, one which Israel regularly disregards, particularly in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah has refused to disarm or cede territory to Israel, guaranteeing more conflict in the future.
