I’ll just
post three short articles I’ve just finished reading that are of interest to those
concerned with global warming and climate change.
1. Chris Hedges of the Truthdig website wrote an excellent post on the subject last month. He uses information from his interview with Adam Frank, a professor of astrophysics at the University of Rochester, in his post which is sobering and cautionary.

2. A short, simple summary article about
climate science theory is in a 2012 Scientific American article by Spencer Weart linked to the Truthdig
post. There is so much written these days about
climate change and possible future scenarios, and it is helpful to have some
concise articles that give a clear perspective on what our generation, and
future generations, have coming down the pipe.
3. George Monbiot, a columnist for the
Manchester Guardian newspaper, wrote a timely article in June on the loss of biodiversity we currently
see happening in our world today. His article has links to other articles and
websites. And those will have links and other links, and so on and so on. It's
too bad we seem to have so few 'links' to things in the natural world
anymore. That's part of the problem, of course. And the solution? We need to
rediscover those links and maintain them.
All three articles are helpful reminders of
how little most of us (myself included) know about what is going on right under
our noses, or before our own eyes.
Cheers, Jake.
